HAPPY 2022!
It’s hard to believe it’s already a new year. As wild as 2021 was, we got to work on some incredible projects and were fortunate to meet some amazing people and tell some really neat stories. We have the incredible privilege to create as a family and we are grateful that each one of you has given us the opportunity to get to know you, your organization and your team over the last few years. Thank you for the time that you’ve taken to get to know our family as well.
We hope that 2022 is your best year yet! It’s a new decade and there are new opportunities and new adventures for all of us, so we are excited to hear about what you’re up to this next year!
Inside the white bag of goodness you received is 4 ounces of Phoenix Roasters Panamanian Blonde Roasted Coffee. Phoenix has been a part of our lives for many years and has consistently been one of our favorite coffees from all over the world, which says a lot if you know how much coffee we consume on a yearly, monthly, weekly, daily…even hourly basis! These are the beans we drink daily on our home.
This coffee is ranked in the top 1% of all coffees in the world. It has a citrus finish from lemon tress and loom grass in the farm. It’s cloud grown at an elevation between 4000 & 6000 feet. They use an all natural organic fertilizer and the best farming practices so they know the coffee will be the best.
If you haven’t seen or heard about it, we started another project called The Workmans Coffee Spots, where we share photos from coffee shops we have visited over the years. If you’re traveling and you want to know where to get a good cup, reach out and we can probably steer you in the right direction.
BREW GUIDE
POUR OVER
42.5 grams of ground coffee
**we recommend using a burr grinder for a more consistent grind
710 ml of water (also known as 3 cups since we can’t all get on the same page with measurements)
** you’ll also need a little bit more water in the beginning to prep the filter
Heat water to 202 degrees (if you don’t have a handy thermometer, you can boil the water and then wait about 30 seconds before brewing)
Put filter in and pour some hot water over it to prep the filter and get an even seal. Pour that water out and put the grinds in the filter.
Pour enough water to saturate the grounds and stir to get everything wet.
After about 45 seconds, pour in more water until you reach the top of the rim.
After another minute, pour the rest of the water in to fill the top.
Let it brew for another 2 minutes and you should be good to go!
FRENCH PRESS
42.5 grams of ground coffee Note: you’ll grind to a more coarse consistency than a traditional pour over or drip brew
**we recommend using a burr grinder for a more consistent grind
1420 ml of water (also known as 6 cups since we can’t all get on the same page with measurements)
Heat water to 202 degrees (if you don’t have a handy thermometer, you can boil the water and then wait about 30 seconds before brewing)
Heat the French press with hot water. Discard water.
Pour in the grounds and fill about half way with water. After about a minute, take a spoon and stir it to break up the crust that will form on the top.
Add the rest of the water and put the top on without pressing it down.
Another 2:30-3 minutes and you can push the press down and enjoy your coffee!
